Kogi state chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP) has cried out over the inability of security agencies to bring to book the killers of the women leader of the party,Mrs. Salome Abuh was burnt alive to death in her country home at ochadamu, in Ofu local government of the state last year.
In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of PDP, Mr. Bode Ogunmola, on Tuesday and made available to the journalists in Lokoja, the party said the killers of late Mrs. Abuh are still shielded from justice, a year after she was burnt to death in her house by suspected thugs believed to be from the rival party.
The party lamented on the sad development, stressing that the party would continue to remember late Mrs. Abuh for her courage, commitment, forthrightness to the party, and doggedness during the November 2019 Governorship Election, in the state.
The party described the deceased “as a wife, mother and a true Patriot whose love for the state remains unrivaled with an unquenchable love for the party and the state, and an Amazon who paid the supreme price for democracy and good governance”.
Mrs. Abuh was“a martyr, political celebrity, an institution who suffered this fate for Democracy in Nigeria”, the statement stressed.
He prayed to God to continue to grant the soul of the deceased party leader an eternal rest, including the family she left behind, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
It would be recalled that Late Mrs Abuh was burnt alive in her house at Ochadamu in the east district of Kogi on November 17, 2019, during the State Governorship election where incumbent Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello emerged as a winner.
