Zamfara Assembly elongates tenure of council sole administrators

The Zamfara House of Assembly has extended the tenure of the 14 local council sole administrators in the state by six months.

The Director, Press Affairs and Public Relations to the House, Malam Mustafa Jafaru-Kaura announced this Wednesday.

According to him, the extension followed a request by Governor Bello Matawalle, read during plenary of the House by the Speaker, Nasiru Magarya.

“The house leader, Faruk Dosara, while moving the motion, said the extension is in line with the house standing rules 2012 as (amended).

“After various deliberations, the lawmakers unanimously agreed with the motion for the time extension for a period of six months effective from April 19, 2022,” he said.

“At the same sitting, the house screened and confirmed two Special Adviser nominees sent to it by Gov. Bello Matawalle, through the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe.

“The confirmed nominees are Kabiru Sahabi from Kaura-Namoda local government area, and Aliyu Muhammad from Gummi local government area,” Jafaru-Kaura added.

“Also at plenary, the house considered a bill for a law to provide for the establishment and management of Zamfara State media corporation and for other matters connected therein 2022.

“The executive bill scaled its first reading during the plenary.

“The house also considered a bill for a law to provide for the Establishment of the zamfara state Transport Authority and for other matters connected therewith 2022.

“A private member bill, sponsored by Yusuf Kanoma (APC, Maru North Constituency), was given its first reading by the house,” he said.
