2023: Sokoto State Deputy Gov joins guber race

Sokoto State incumbent deputy governor, Hon Manir Muhammad Dan’Iya (Walin Sokoto) after indicating interest to succeed his boss, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has submitted his “Expression of Interest and Nomination Form” to the State PDP Office.

Speaking at the party’s office before the submission, Hon Dan Iya, admitted that his boss, governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is a political colosus in the nation’s polity and has equally done well by initiating meaningful development in the State.

Manir who thanked the governor for providing the needed level playing ground for all aspirants seeking to contest elective positions in the state, however appealed to Nigerians to support Tambuwal’s presidency come 2023.

The deputy governor premised his call on the fact that Tambuwal is one politician that is not only concerned about one indivisible Nigeria, but even development for all.

Said Hon Manir, “Alhamdulillah. Today is a very historic day. As I submit my forms today, credit goes to my Party the PDP, and even higher credit to my Principal, Governor Tambuwal, the ‘People’s Governor’, because without his political acumen in providing equal opportunity for Party members, we couldn’t have trooped out to purchase forms to contest for various positions at various levels . “From the day I declared my interest to contest for governor to date, I have seen and received a lot of goodwill messages, support and above all, prayers from the public from within and outside the state”.

While praying that he will continue with Tambuwal’s legacies should he emerge the standard governorship flag bearer of his party, Hon Manir appealed to his teeming supporters across all the 23 Local Government areas in Sokoto State, and, by extension, across the country, to be law abiding.
