Rivers Police arrest two brothers for defiling 2- year-old twins

Operatives of the Puff Ader tactical unit of Rivers State Police Command have arrested two teenage brothers for allegedly defiling 2-year-old twins, a boy and girl in Port Harcourt.

The mother of the victims, Mrs. Achinihu Clement who made the disclosure to journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday said she wants justice for her children.

Narrating how she discovered the alleged defilement of her two year old twins, Mrs. Clement stated that, when she wanted to dress her son up on 10th of January, 2022, she observed that her son was not able to sit on the bed.

She said upon interrogation her son told her that an in-law aged 16, who resided with them tampered with his anus through sodomy.

Mrs. Clement revealed that, she immediately took the children to the hospital and after examination, three different doctors and nurses confirmed penetration and defilement of her son

She added that the same medical examination was carried out on twin girls and it was discovered that the hymen of the private part has been completely removed.

She said that she made an entry to the Puff Ader tactical unit and the suspects were arrested but later released.

In the meantime the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has lauded the Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday for ensuring the re-arrest of the suspects.

A lawyer with the human rights advocacy group, Charles Edwin called for thorough investigation into the incident to determine the culpability of the suspects.

Mr. Edwin added that, if the suspects are found culpable they should be made to face the law.

As at press time, our correspondent gathered that the suspects had been transferred to the human rights desk at Police headquarters, Moscow road Port Harcourt.
