MDAs under Ministry of Communication brief new Permanent Secretary

All departments, agencies and unites under the Federal Ministry of Communication/Digital Economy have briefed the newly appointed Permanent Secretary Mr. William Nwankwo Alo about their activities.

Top official at the ministry told Nigerian Pilot that the Permanent Secretary who assumed office last week needs to meet with all the heads of agencies, departments and unites before hitting the ground running.

While some of the departments have already briefed him, others are currently taking turns to carry out their responsibilities.

Nwankwo Alo, from Ebonyi State was moved from the Police Service Commission to replace Mr. Bitrus Nabasu who retired from service recently.

Nigerian Pilot source said activities at the ministry have been put on hold following the absence of a permanent secretary to give directives since Mr. Bitrus Nabasu went on retirement.

‘’ a schedule which includes dates and time has drawn up and it is being followed religiously by all the departments and agencies who are briefing the Permanent Secretary to enable him get acquainted with the various duties and policies of the ministry. For some time now there has been no activities because there due to absence of an accounting officer and you know too that the budget has not been released. Now that we a permanent secretary, things will soon begin to work as expected,’’ Our source said.
