As Nigerian Muslims join their counterparts across the world to celebrate the end of this year’s Ramadan, the Director General, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Dr. Garba Abari has urged the Muslim Ummah to uphold the lessons of love, selflessness, tolerance, patience and perseverance which Ramadan signifies.
Abari who sent his felicitations in a press release issued by Assistant Director of Press, Mr Paul Odenyi said the Eid-el-Fitri was an opportunity for Muslims, and indeed all Nigerians, to demonstrate the spirit of tolerance, brotherliness, love and peace that exists among us.
These, he believes, should be imbibed as examples of lessons learnt during Ramadan which promotes peace and unity among citizens to facilitate the peaceful national coexistence which we all desire as Nigerians.
He also urged the Ummah to continue to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom in tackling the current challenges faced by the country as we also draw nearer to the 2023 general elections.
While admonishing the Ummah to remain true to their civic responsibilities and maintain support for government towards fulfilling its obligations, the NOA Director General called on the faithful to be law abiding and security conscious both during and after the celebrations as progress and development can only thrive in a secure and peaceful society.
