The Commissioner for National Insurance Commission NAICOM Mr. Sunday Thomas has said the Commission will apply the proceeds of its Education Fund, with mindset to promoting insurance education and human capital development in Nigeria.
The NAICOM boss stated this when he signed a Memorandum of Understanding with University of Uyo management in Abuja for construction of a building block in the University.
According to him, “this is a knowledge-based sector and we realized that as the days go by, vulnerability increases, in which case, we need to develop products that will be able to meet the needs and aspirations of the populace via functionally creative ideas,”
He stressed that other tertiary institutions are also in the agenda. NAICOM embarked on the funding of construction of a building block for the Insurance Department of the University of Uyo to spur penetration of insurance in the country.
