Ikenga Ugochinyere Imo, a front line aspirant for Ideato North/ South Federal Constituency on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has called for the immediate removal of the National Secretary of the Party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu for his alleged complicit in the stealing by the state chapter of the party.

He also alleged that the earlier expulsion of Senator Anyanwu as a member of the Imo state PDP still subsists and that any nomination form signed by him will jeopardize the chances of the party in the coming 2023 elections.

Addressing Journalists at the Party’s Secretariat, Ugochinyere Imo who spoke on behalf of the other aspirants, alleged that the local government ward congresses’ results were stolen and that it all started in Abuja and that it had the imprints of the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

“We are here today because the result of the congress conducted on Saturday was stolen. In fact, they had wanted to steal all the results of the 27 local governments areas but when they were caught, we recovered that of 25 local governments and that of Ideato North/South are still missing and this thing started in Abuja with the imprints of the National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu but we will never allow such a brazen robbery”, he said.

He further alleged that Senator Anyanwu wants to destroy the party they have laboured to build because of his personal ambition but we will not allow him.

Ikenga Imo further alleged that the actions of the National Secretary are to sabotage the efforts of the party in the state and to create confusion and crisis in the party.

He insisted that Senator Anyanwu whose expulsion from the party has not be lifted should be asked to step aside as a member of the National Working Committee as any nomination form signed by him will jeopardize the chances of the party as rival parties may challenge legitimacy of his membership.

“I am calling on the National Executive Committee of the party to immediately ask Senator Anyanwu to step aside and the Assistant Secretary to act because he is not a member of the party after being expelled from his ward and local government which was ratified by the state. And, that expulsion still subsists and as it is, any nomination form signed by him may be challenged by our rivals in the court which will jeopardize the chances of the party in the coming 2023 polls”, he added.
