A total of 120 successful Golden Eaglets players will now have to undergo MRI age test in the coming weeks and officials have informed that test has generated tension and fear among the players in Abuja camp.
This followed a rigorous week of screening of hundreds of young players at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja this past week by Coach Nduka Ugbade and his assistants.
“The MRI test is the big decider,” a top official admitted yesterday.
The qualification for the U17 AFCON in Algeria will begin for the Eaglets in Cape Coast, Ghana, next month in a sub-regional tournament.
Two years ago, the team qualified for the U17 AFCON proper in Morocco, but the competition was eventually cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
