Police declares war against traffic offenders in Adamawa

Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Kayode Akande has declared war on traffic offenders in the state.

Against this backdrop, CP, Akande has deployed a Task Force Team with a charge to go after the violators of the rules for safety of the innocent lives.

According to the command, the team is to arrest and prosecute offenders, vowing that the Command will not allow anyone to drive or ride dangerously with a vehicle, tricycle and motorcycle unchallenged.

CP Akande, in a statement by the spokesman of the Command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to reporters on Thursday, explained that the taskforce was to checkmate violation of rules.

“The Adamawa State Police Command wishes to advise members of the general public particularly Drivers and Tricycle Operators to desist from violating traffic rules as it threatens the lives of innocent citizens”, Nguroje said.

According to him, the command has set up a Taskforce Team to go after traffic violators, calling on the public to cooperate with security agents who were on duty to ensure public safety, public order by preventing all forms of reckless driving.

CP Akande, urged the public to cooperate with security agents, and equally warned that the order takes effect from the 12th May, 2022.

He directed Divisional Police Officers within Metropolis and OC Central Motor Traffic Division and Operational Commanders to immediately apprehend violators of traffic rules and ensure their prosecution.

CP Akande, said that the Police Management Team will be going round to ensure compliance and enforcement.
