CUPP spokesman, Ikenga hails signing of Amended Electoral Act

Opposition Coalition CUPP Spokesperson Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere has hailed the signing of Amended Electoral Act by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Briefing newsmy, Ikenga said President action has helped in timely resolution of all controversi that would have marred Political party primaries.

He said that Imo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP can now conduct its primaries with Statutory Delegates inview of Court and INEC nullification of Adhoc Delegates congress in Imo.

“Every controversy about the composition of who and who can now vote has been resolved by this amendment to the law. PDP can now conduct a hitchfree primaries in line with the Court order and INEC directives”, he said.

Speaking further, Ikenga also hailed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s decision to reject illegal plan to hold Imo 3-man adhoc congress today against the subsisting order of Court which restrained the Commission from recognizing outcome of any purported Ward Congresses.
