Plateau: Senator Gyang Loses PDP Primary Election

Senator representing Plateau North Senatorial district, Barrister Istifanus Gyang has suffered a setback in his bid to return to the upper legislative chamber on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, platform.

He lost his return ticket to a two-term member of the House of Representatives representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Simon Mwadkwon .

The results had Sen Gyang scoring 99 votes while Hon. Simon Mwadkwon   pulled 119 votes to be declared winner in the early hours of Tuesday.

Meanwhile Air Vice Marshal Napoleon Bali (retd) one time Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) HQ NAF has won the Peoples Democratic Party PDP primaries for the Plateau South Senatorial race.

The primaries which were conducted on Monday had Napoleon Bali pulling 141 votes, while a former House of Representatives member, Hon John Bull Shekarau scored 61 votes.
