Press Release

The recent statement credited to the spokesperson of a group identified as “Coalition of Northern Groups” (CNC) Abdul – Azeez Suleiman should be treated as a matter of urgent national and international security concern.

Mr. Suleiman was credited with a statement by the Nigerian news media, wherein a threat notice was served on elements of Eastern Nigeria and the Igbos in particular, resident in Northern Nigeria.

Sadly, it appears the script is just unfolding and all the actors are playing their different roles, in the unfortunate drama, preceeding the imminent collapse of the former British colony referred to as the “federal” republic of Nigeria. However, whether the outcome or conclusion will be favorable or what the authors of this tragic concert expected, is entirely a different proposition; mainly because of the God factor (nature) as well as the unintended consequences of human action and inaction.

Nevertheless, I continue to plead with all lovers of humanity to help avert the horrors of another large scale genocidal war in Africa, by persuading the Buhari led central government to quickly renegotiate the unity, demographics and constitution of Nigeria by all the ethnic nationalities, based on the principles of equity, natural justice and good conscience. Alternatively, the badly crafted and naturally unbalanced British contraption which the Nigerian state represents may disintegrate into smaller, peaceful, stable, manageable and progressive nation states.

Finally, I appeal for concerted local and international effort against the individuals and groups directly or indirectly responsible for the mindless killings of innocent men, women and children, in the failed republic of Nigeria. The increasing levels of crimes against humanity in the collapsing Nigeria state must be stopped now, before it escalates into a high intensity violent conflict or full blown civil war, in other words. A stitch in time they say, saves nine.
