Dr. Richard Gbande, Member representing Katsina -Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal Constituency of Benue State in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly, has been re-nominated by his constituents to fly the People’s Democratic Party, PDP flag in the 2023 National Assembly election.

Dr. Gbande who is currently the Deputy Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Commerce, polled 108 votes to defeat his opponents, Mr Vihimga Terungwa and Mr Gbede John who secured zero votes during Sunday’s PDP primary election.

A statement issued by Comr. Kelvin Atsem, Legislative Aide and Personal Assistant to Gbande, said stakeholders linked the overwhelming victory to a proof of the trust reposed on him by the people of Sankera Federal Constituency.

“We believe in his quality representation in the House and that’s why our people have overwhelmingly endorsed his re-election,” a stakeholder said.

Former presidential aspirant, Prof. Iorwuese Hagher speaking for the stakeholders, noted that Dr Gbande within the last three and half years in the House of Representatives, has attracted several impactful projects to the benefits of his constituents.

An emotional Gbande who was touched by the overwhelming support from his constituents, promised to consolidate his efforts if he eventually wins his return bid at the general election.

In part of his numerous achievements, Dr Gbande has also assisted people to secure employment in public service, while many others have as well benefited from his empowerment programmes.
