Barely twenty four hours after clinching the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has commenced moves to reconcile with other aspirants that contested the party’s ticket with him.

During the PDP national convention held last weekend Atiku scored 371 votes; Wike, 237; a former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, 70; the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom, 38; the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, 20; a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, 14; one. Fayose and Dele Mohmodu scored zero each.

The PDP standard bearer was in Governor Wike’s Abuja residence on Monday with some other chieftains of the PDP as part of efforts to ensure the party goes into the 2023 presidential race as a united body.

Atiku and his team were also in the private residence of former Senate President Pius Anyim at a similar reconciliation meeting.

The two meetings were all held behind closed doors.
