Prince Adewole Adebayo has emerged the Presidential Flag Bearer of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, for the 2023 Presidential Election.

Announcing the results at the International Conference Center, ICC, venue of the SDP Convention, the Chairman of Electoral Committee, Dr. Umar Ardo said Adewole Adebayo polled a total of one thousand five hundred and twenty six votes to win his rival Khadija Okunu-Lamidi who scored eighty three votes while forty six votes were invalid.

In his acceptance speech Prince Adewole Adebayo stressed that his victory has open a new window for social Justice in Nigeria

Earlier, National Chairman of the Party, Alh. Shehu Musa Gabam explained that Nigerians and Nigeria are tired of unfulfilled promises and dashed hopes and the party is ready to change their destinies.

“Nigerians are tired of unending insecurity problems, tired of poverty and want, tired of daily threats to Nigeria’s corporate existence, tired of non-inclusive governance, tired of policies that exaggerate our
differences, tired of the daily emigration of our best brains and our youth to better climes” he stressed.

He also stated that Nigerians were craving a land of equal opportunities, social justice, fairness and liberty to pursue their legitimate daily chores without hindrances, a land where existence and ability to achieve their hearts desires and to contribute their quota to its development is not defined by their identity.

He added that Nigeria would get it right this time around stressing that sadly, the two parties which had succeeded the military have left Nigerians with so much to desire from
their leaders.

He further noted that it was highly lamentable that our country today has been plagued
by challenges of corruption, unmitigated lawlessness, gross impunity, spiraling indiscipline, brazen and outrageous security challenges that has
left Nigeria paradoxically poor in the midst of God given abundance
for our collective progress and prosperity.

“Nigerians and Nigeria should be and indeed tired of unfulfilled promises and dashed hopes are now ready to change their destinies. Nigerians are tired of unending insecurity problems, tired of poverty and want, tired of daily threats to Nigeria’s corporate existence, tired of non-inclusive governance, tired of policies that exaggerate our
differences, tired of the daily emigration of our best brains and our youth to better climes. Nigerians are tired of clueless leadership and tired of no electricity in spite of the colossal investments in power
generation. They crave a land of equal opportunities, social justice, fairness and liberty to pursue their legitimate daily chores without let or
hindrances, a land where existence and ability to achieve their hearts desires and to contribute their quota to its development is not defined by their identities. These and more are the cravings of Nigerians and these can only be achieved under a new initiative that the SDP offers,” he explained.

About one thousand, seven hundred and ten delegates from the thirty-six states and the FCT participated in the election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission was on ground to monitor the process.
