Osun State Focal Person on National Social Investment Program-NSIP, Lukman Abimbola Bello yesterday disclosed that the state has spent over 4 Billion Naira to 15,563 beneficiaries under State Case Transfer Unit (SCTU).

The SCTU programme has nothing less than 2 million beneficiaries in Nigeria and scaling up to 10.2M beneficiaries.

According to Bello during Osun State Cash Transfer Unit (SCTU) Payment Debit Card Distribution/Activation To HUP-CCT Beneficiaries in Olorunda and Osogbo local governments areas of the state, the programme has come to a halt from November, 2021 because “we want to go on full sensitisation, as well as give them cards.”

Bello who is also the Special Adviser to Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the state, said, “this programme has been on for sometimes, we have spent over 4billion naira in Osun to 15,563 beneficiaries, each beneficiary will collect 5,000 every month while some with 10,000 naira.

“Presently we have about 2 million beneficiaries and we are scaling up to 10.2M beneficiaries all over Nigeria, so there is going to be continuity in this programme, there is going to be more people coming on board for this programme, that was the reason this programme was delayed till now.

“We will collect the card they are using before and issue another one which is an extension of what they have before. This will enable them to access their money even without gathering them together. We just informed them the card has been loaded that they can go to POS (Point of Sales) or any ATM (Automated Teller Machine) of thier choice to cash out.” he stated.

Bello thereafter appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria, Sadiya Umar Farouq and the National Programme Coordinator of the National Cash Transfer Office, Hajiya Halima Shehu for the initiative.

In addition, he lauded the Governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola for being supportive on social intervention programmes, federal and state.

“He (Governor Oyetola) believes so much giving back to the community and the people. He does his best for these people and always after making life better for people within Osun no matter their respective religion or political affiliation. He’s a wonderful man. Oyetola deserves commendation from all the beneficiaries.

“Second term of Oyetola is going to be better because this first time, he met a huge debt which he has been offsetting without borrowing from anywhere.

“He has been paying salaries fully, rehabilitating roads, hospitals doing so many social intervention programmes. He feeds 1,000 household, local government on a monthly basis; that’s what he has been doing, he increased local government so many things.

“We rely on God, he don’t say too much things, but he acts more than what he says. That is Isiaka Adegboyega for you. He is a promise keeper, calm and collected personality, an encyclopaedia of Finance. We are going to do more, far better when we come to power.

Bello however implored all the beneficiaries to make good use of the money while urging them to demonstrate their complete support to Gov Oyetola’s led administration for him to win the governorship election come July 16 election.
