In a bid to consolidate its victory at the recently conducted Ekiti gubernatorial election, ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has enlisted 20 of its governors in the battle to retain Osun State in the July 16 governorship election.
This was as the party released an 86-member National Campaign Council list for the Osun gubernatorial election to be headed by Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwolu.
According to the list jointly signed by the national Chairman Abdullahi Adamu, and national secretary, Iyiola Omisore, other members of the campaign council include former governors, current and former national assembly members, current and past ministers and other party stalwarts.
Incumbent Gov Gboyega Oyetola of APC, who is seeking a re-election, narrowly defeated his rival and Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2018 poll.
The party will hope to recreate the feat it achieved in the neighboring Ekiti State where its candidate Biodun Oyebanji defeated other contestants with a wide margin.
