No fewer than three vigilantes including their commander, Danladi Dobbo were reportedly killed, while many locals were abducted by kidnappers in Kpada Community of Lapai Local Government Area of Niger state.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon while the locals and tractor operators were carrying out their farming activities before they were suddenly attacked by the criminals.

It was gathered that the vigilantes were mobilized for a search and rescue mission to the forest and were reportedly attacked by the kidnappers leading to the casualties on the part of the vigilantes.

Report gathered that recently a police DCO in Lapai and a vigilante were killed in the same Kpada community during a rescue mission without an official statement from the security agencies in the state.

However, the state Commissioner for Internal Security, Emmanuel Umar confirmed the story.

He advised the community not to go after the bandits in the forest as the security agents will recover the bodies.
