Following the victory Senator Ademola Adeleke of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State, the state’s Chapter of Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, has congratulated the Governor-elect.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by Chairman of the Union, Wasiu Ajadosu and the Secretary, Bukola Elufadejin.
The union urged the governor-elect to run an all-inclusive government and see his victory as an opportunity to improve the life of the citizenry, and as an avenue to uplift the socio-economic life of the state.
The statement implored the winner to run an all-inclusive government and listen to every stratum of the society to give every citizen a desired sense of belonging.
It read, “You must never lose guard and endeavour to make people the core of your administration by realizing that sovereignty belongs to the people, therefore, government’s programmes and policies must be people-oriented.
“We hope and pray that you will bring your political experience to bear in this new assignment,” the statement read.
Adeleke was the candidate of the PDP, in Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
