The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Sukiru Akande on Tuesday led a heavy detachment of policemen to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) House, venue for takeoff of today’s nationwide protest in solidarity with the striking university lecturers.
Nigerian Pilot, cited fierce looking armed policemen with their long convoy of personnel carrier and guntrucks in front of the gate leading into the Labour House.
It was gathered that the commissioner of police, was inside engaging with the Labour leader, Emmanuel Fashe.
It’s not yet clear whether the police came to block the protest or to provide security for the protesters.
