NCPC Boss urges youths to be focused, purposeful, united

The Executive Secretary of Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam has urged youths to be focused, purposeful and come together for a more united Nigeria.

He gave the advice when a delegation from the National Association of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS) paid him a visit on Tuesday in Abuja.

Pam said that he was elated to see youths who are focused, purposeful and articulated come together for a better course.
He said that most problems facing the country were caused by some youths who have made themselves agents of negative tendencies.
Pam urged the association to fully utilize the platform to organize programmes for youths that bring hope to them and the country at large.
Pam challenged the youths to conduct more researches and to take advantage of various empowerment schemes in order to develop themselves.

“The greatest knowledge you will have is not the one you learn in the classroom, but the one you discover by yourself,” he added.

Pam admonished the students to always do the right thing and should not be discouraged when their voices are not heard.

”Be patient, one you will be heard and the future belongs to you,” he said.
Earlier, El-Yakub said the visit was to identify with the Executive Secretary and also to present an ‘Award of Excellence’ to him.

This, he said followed his records of good leadership and humanitarian services.

He explained that the association is a non-governmental body formed by students in the North.

According to El-Yakub, the association is aimed at orienting students to steer clear from vices like drug abuse and cultism.

He further said that they organize routine lectures, skills acquisition programmes, as well as partner with security agencies in order to give back to the society.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the award to Pam as a token of encouragement and appreciation from the students’ community.
