Nigerian troops neutarlize scores of bandits, rescue 10 kidnap victims in Kaduna

Nigerian troops have neutralized scores of bandits and dislodged their camps in Igabi and Chikun Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.

Confirming this on Tuesday, Samuel Aruwan Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, in a statement, said the operatives who were conducting clearance of bandits and criminals in some hard-to-reach locations in Chikun and Igabi LGAs, came across the elements and neutralized them, while several others ran into the forest with gunshot wounds.

He said the bandit’s camp in Apewohe, Chikun LGA was completely destroyed, while the operation also extended to Dakwala and Kunai hills in the same LGA which led to the destruction of several bandits’ camps.

Aruwan added that the troops after clearing out the bandits, stormed their hideouts and rescued ten kidnapped persons who were chained and bound with ropes.

Among those rescued include: Surajo Aliyu, Ayuba Yakubu, Ibrahim Abdulrasheed, Aliyu Mohammed, Magaji Tasiu, Nasiru Ahmed, Mohammadu lbrahim, Ayuba Abdulsalam, Kelvin Musa, Paul Patrick.

The state’s spokesman added that a camp was cleared at Rafin Gwaska, Igabi LGA, while the troops recovered the following items; three locally-made rifles, one AK-47 magazine, one AK-47 top cover, four Bafoeng radio chargers, eleven mobile phones, three music boxes, two sets of military uniforms, one frag jacket, spanners, knives and chains.
