CBN urges stakeholders to embrace eNaira

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has urged stakeholders to value and treat the naira with so much respect and dignity, giving that, we have a visual currency called eNaira, and we should embrace it.

The Team Lead Director, Corporate communications department, Mr Osita Nwanisobi gave the advise at the two-day, CBN Fair sensitization Enlightenment Campaign in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.

Represented by the Head Internal Communications Corporate Communication Department, Mr Samuel Okogbue, Nwanisobi said, the Naira is our pride, we value it like the Nigeria flag, we should treat our naira with so much respect and dignity.

He said “Naira is our pride, we value the Nigeria naira as much as we value the Nigeria flag. We should treat our naira with so much respect and dignity.

” We have just gotten a visual currency, money you cannot touch but can only see by touching your phone or your laptops we call it eNaira.”

In his goodwill message, the Agriculture development programmes. Mr Vitalis Chindah said, without CBN interventions in the various areas of Agriculture, and manufacturing life will be difficult.

“Recently the CBN in conjunction with the state government approve 10,000 youths to be trained by both River Stat Agriculture Development Project ADP and CBN for empowerment.

” The training on Agriculture has done quiet a lot in their lives and we are here to see more of that. So I want to encourage them to do more because our farmers are yearning without finance, we cannot access our Agric farming, poultry you can’t do anything without money”

Earlier in his welcome address, the CBN Branch controller, Yenagoa, Mr Francis Asuquo said, “the harmonised sensitization on CBN initiatives covers payment systems, consumer protection, financial inclusion, clean naira note policy, Agricultural finance initiatives , Real sector intervention, and eNaira.

“This occasion has the primary objectives of sensitising you on the banks initiatives. I am indeed excited about this event , as it is very apt at this time of our economic development.

“The Central Bank of Nigeria, as a critical stakeholder in economic development, seeks to collaborate with you, as we contribute to the efforts of the federal government towards achieving a well diversified and prosperous economy.”
