Professor Rahaman recommends books to Geoscientist, Miners in the sector, hails author

Professor O. Rahaman has recommended the books “Health and Safety in the Mining Sector”, and “Fundamentals for Exploring the Mining Sector” as assets to all Geoscientist, Miners and the sector.

Speaking during a visit to the Author, Deinsam Ogan, a Staff of the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, MMSD, Rahaman called on all hands in the mining sector to study and acquire knowledge from the books.

He also hailed the author whom he described as a treasure to the sector saying that, “I recommend the books “Health and Safety in the Mining Sector”, & “Fundamentals for Exploring the Mining Sector” to all Geoscientists and Investors in the sector”.

Ogan said he wrote the book to give impetus to economic diversification as it will encourage local and foreign investors to invest in the sector.

Previously, the Federal Government had given recognition to the book, Fundamentals for Exploring the Mining Sector, stating that it will greatly enhance the development of the solid minerals sector.

The book, authored by Deinsam Dan Ogan was described as a very resourceful document that will provide guidance for prospective investors and many others who desire to know more about the Nigerian solid mineral sector.

Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc Olamilekan Adegbite who gave the endorsement during the presentation of the book at the Headquarters of the Ministry in Abuja, thanked the author for sharing insightful knowledge on the sector.

The minister said: “Having your ideas put on paper to come out with a book that is aimed at enhancing the knowledge about the sector in this way is a bold step that must be commended”.

Giving his imprimatur, the minister said: “I recommend the book for everyone who has mining at heart.”

“I congratulate the author, this is the best time for publishing such a book, as knowledge and experience would do much to facilitate the ongoing economic diversification.

The author, a Geologist by profession, joined the Civil Service after receiving the nation’s gratitude as a National Awardee with a ptresidential handshake in recognition of his outstanding performance during his NYSC service year, and has been with the Mining Cadastre Office.
