Our doors for reconciliation is still open, says Gov Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has declared that the G5 governor’s door for reconciliation with the People’s Democratic Party PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is still opened.

Governor Wike made the remarks late Wednesday evening while speaking with Journalists in Bauchi after he led the G5 governor’s to a courtesy call to their Bauchi State counterparts.

He stated that the governors are willing to reconcile their differences with the Presidential Candidate of their party or any other member of the family just to ensure total victory for the PDP in all levels of elections.

Gov Woke alongside Governors of Abia, Benue and Enugu states under auspices of their G-5 group also declared their total support to the reelection bid of their colleague Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed if Bauchi State ahead of the next year’s governorship election in the state.

Governor Wike speaking on behalf of other governors said members of the G-5 group will support the Bauchi governor to succeed in his reelection bid in 2023 general election, considering his experience and tremendous projects executed by the former FCT Minister.

Governor Wike further said whatever affects Governor Bala Mohammed also affects members of the group, hence their resolve to reach out to him with support and advices that will assist him to overcome challenges in his second term bid.

“We came to solidarize with our friend, the Governor of Bauchi State, I know he is seeking for reelection and what we are doing is to fraternize and solidarise with our colleagues who are in need of our support. This visit will afford us the opportunity to discuss with him on area of advice. His Excellency, Governor Bala has done a lot in Bauchi State and I know Bauchi people will vote for him again in 2023.”

Responding, Governor’s Bala Mohammed expressed gratitude to the PDP governors for the visit, whom he said it is a great honor and expressed optimism that their visit will assist him to tackle some issues identified in his reelection bid.

“Today I am very happy to receive my friends, members of G-5 team, I am highly connected with each of them, they are my Colleagues and I must thank them for this very important fraternal visit .

The G-5 governors that visited Governor Bala Mohammed in Bauchi are Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu of Abia State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Samuel Ortom of Benue State.
