Hajia Safiya Yahaya also commended ActionAid Nigeria for its support through advocacy to the Women Group which enabled it to embark on capacity building of women in the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State.
“Our activities for women empowerment with the support of ActionAid Nigeria cut across all the wards in the 21 Council Areas of Kogi”, the SWOFON Coordinator disclosed.
Responding, the APPEALS Coordinator and beneficiary of the Award, Dr Ozomata, said that the award would spur him to do more for the women group in the state.
“Iam happy that am being appreciated. I really value the recognition but I must confess that am only a contributor. We did it together and the success story goes to all of us.
“I will not relent in ensuring that women have their place in the society. I will continue to ensure that the right people get our support.
“The essence of APPEALS Project is to create job, wealth and boost food security and I am assuring you that those women that have not benefited from our women empowerment will be considered in our future engagement.
“Please don’t shortchange yourselves. Try to make best out of the benefits by investing your proceeds for the betterment of your existence”, Ozomata advised.
