Resign or Else, Diri warn PDP anti party members

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa has warned some cabinet members of the People’s Democratic Party in the state to desist from working against any candidate of the party or resign.

Diri said he is the leader of the party in the state and has not directed anybody to work against any candidate of PDP, noting that, all the candidates are his candidates.

The governor sounded the warning while flagging-off the Medical Outreach at Igeibiri community in Southern ijaw local government area of the state as part of activities marking his 3rd year anniversary in office.

He said some people are in the government of PDP and are working against the interest of the Party. “I have not directed anybody to work for any candidate in another party. Am the leader of the party and all the candidates are my candidates”.

“I learnt that some people are using my name to go and support candidate from another party, if you are of such, desist from it. You cannot be eating from PDP and you are working against the party. Is better you resign or else I will show you the way out”.

Addressing the community on the flagging-off of the medical outreach said, if the people are not healthy they cannot prosper and as a Prosperity government I want the the people of the state to be healthy.

He said the medical outreach has become an annual ritual as party of activities to mark his stay in office. “So, health officers will be go round the whole communities in the state and everything has been paid for including surgical cases. Avail yourself this opportunity and be healthy”.

“I have directed the commissioner of health to construct a Primary Healthcare center in Igeibiri community so that the people can have easy access to health facilities. All we require of you is your support”.

Speaking further said, his administration prioritize expenditure and one of his government priority is road infrastructures and the road to Angiama has been completed.

He described the bridge crossing river nun as one of the longest and the company handling it has promised to deliver on record time. ” We will continue to open up our communities for easy access to reduce the suffering of traveling by water. We will linked up all the communities by roads. PDP is the only party that have brought development to the state”.

“Apart from health center, we will get electricity from Yenagoa to Oporoma, the headquarters of southern ijaw local government area. We will not wait for federal government, we will do it ourselves.
I therefore approved electricity to Igeibiri community”.

He said because of January windfall has increase the state gratuities of retired civil servant from #200m to #1billion naira for the month of January. “For us government will continue to serve you”

In his opening remarks, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Pabra Newton Igwele, described it as a special day for the ministry of health to have flagging-off the medical outreach in Igeibiri community.

He said the governor has ask them to increase their coverage to 72 communities and has also approve a lot of people for various medical cases.

In Goodwill message, the chairman of Community Development Committee ( CDC), Diepreye Flint, thanked the governor for the road he constructed that have reduced there transport burdens.

“Before we used to pay #1000 to our community but today we are paying #300 due to the access road. We also thanked the governor for flagging Off the medical outreach in our community”.
