Member representing Langtang North/ Langtang South in the House of representatives Hon Beni Lar, has won a record fifth term in office in the National Assembly following Saturday’s elections.
Our correspondent reports that Lar, the PDP candidate, polled 14,899 votes against her closest rival, Vincent Venmak of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 8,871, and was declared the winner.
Lar also defeated Mr Solomon Dalung, a former Minister of Sports during President Buhari’s first tenure, who contested the election on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
Beni is a lawyer and daughter of Chief Solomon Lar, the first civilian governor of old Plateau State and founding National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
