The latest contender for the House of Representatives Speakership position, Hon Aminu Sani Jaji has publicly declared his aspiration, hinging his campaign on a 6-point agenda with priorities on enacting effective legislations on national security economy. and ensuring an independent Legislature to check the excesses of other arms of government.
Rep Jaji who represents Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji federal constituecy, Zamfara State in the green chambers, at his formal declaration ceremony in Abuja, noted that what the House needed most at this period was a Speaker freely chosen by members amongst themselves with confidence in his ability to deliver.
The latest Speakership contender to declare his manifesto based his suitability for the position on his Pre-requisite qualifications, experience both as a legislator and in the private sector as well as his first hand experience in terrorism and counter terrorism.
He had chaired a couple of strategic Committees in the House including that on National Security, Intelligence and Public Safety.
The Speakership aspirant is a member of the G.7, the aggrieved aspirants protesting the zoning and micro zoning adopted by the APC, cautioned the party against imposing a candidate on the 10th House and also expressed confidence that the Speaker will eventually emerge from the Group.
