A Pastor, named Ikechukwu Udealor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Beautiful Gate Parish, Karamajiji Airport Road, Abuja has snatched the wife of one Ikechukwu Eze, a business man in Abuja.

According to the defendant, the Pastor had conspired with one Mercy Nnenna Okike from Ogbuenu Okposi Okwu from Okike Okpara family in Okposi Ohaozara L.G.A in Ebonyi State, an enstranged wife to Mr Eze, when her husband had travelled to his village she packed all her husband’s properties in the matrimonial home and eloped with the pastor together with the three children Nnenna born for the her husband.

However, the Pastor who is from Nteje Anambra State had also filed a case against Ikechukwu Eze at an FCT High Court, in Nyanya, for defamation of character.

Counsel to Ikechukwu Eze the Defendant, Barristers Orji Okafor and Benjamin Ogbamgba of the Centre of Prevention of Corruption and Human Rights Abuse Initiative, CPCHRAC, lamented that at the last adjourned date of the case which came up on 25th April, 2023 the Judge adjourned the case to 25th May, 2023 because the the Counsel insisted on payment of cost awarded against a Counsel and did not allow the Defendant’s Counsel to cross-examined the Plaintiff, Udealor.

Although the case didn’t hold because of a mishearing of the date adjourned by the Judge by the Defendant’s Counsel.

The Defendant said that, “I paid her dowry in 2009, and she packed my properties in Abuja” the marriage became legal in 2012 saying further that he sent his wife to the University to read Education Accounting.

Moreover, the Defendant said he established his wife, Nnenna in her food business.

Eze noted that his wife Nnenna introduced Udealor to him as a Pastor.

He noted that henceforth the Plaintiff, Udealor became close to his family that being a driver by profession he became the person who conveyed his wife and goods from her food business.

As his family’s friendship with Udealor waxed stronger, Eze said he bought a two bedroom flat together with a self contained in his son’s name and he made Udealor his witness in a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, where he paid a first installment to the seller, one Alhaji Jubril Bello.

He said that when Udealor saw that he had completed his payment for the house he brought out the hatched plan with Nnenna when he travelled to his village.

Eze noted that Udealor and Nnenna came and packed his belongings.

He also said that Udealor also eloped with his wife and his three children to an unknown destination.

He also noted that his wife Nnenna and Udealor while he travelled forged documents for the land he bought and went to the same Lawyer who drafted his land document to draft another fake land document for them.

Eze noted that in the forged land document Nnenna his wife claimed to be the owner of the forged land document.

He said to his dismay Udealor and Nnenna his wife conspired with one Andy Best Ukoh an elder and member of Pastor Udealor’s church.

He said that Nnenna in a forged deed of assignment transfered the ownership of his property to Ukoh as the new owner while Udealor who had earlier being his witness to the house he purchased also became his wife’s witness in the forged documents where his wife was made the seller.

He noted that presently his wife filed a divorce suit against him, at a High Court in Maraba, while Udealor filed a suit for defamation against him in an FCT High Court in Nyanya and Ukoh filed a suit for recovery of possession against him at a Magistrate Court in Lugbe.
