World Bicycle Day: Develop cycling culture for strengthening physical, mental health – Katsina FRSC Boss

The Katsina State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has joined the rest of the world to mark the 5th United Nations World Bicycle Day, to cycle within the state capital.

The Sector Commander, Ibrahim Maiyaki Bazama, who told officers and men of the Corps to develop cycling habit as a means of strengthening physical, mental health and general well-being.

He said it had been the Corps’ tradition to join the rest of the World in
commemoration of the United Nations World Bicycle Day.

“On 16h April 2018, 3rd June of every year was declared by the United Nations 72d General Assembly as World Bicycle Day.

“To this end, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN) and Transportation Growth Initiative (TGI) have been collaborating to mark the event,” Bazama said.

He applauded the entire staff, Special Marshals and the NYSC RSC members for turning up early and en-mass for the event as he further informed them on the gains of non- motorised transport which include “cost saving advantage, health benefit, environmental advantages, among other sundry benefits.”
