Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday reportedly intercepted two loaded Benue Links buses traveling from Makurdi to Lagos.
Ten people were said to have been kidnapped during the attack while many others were said to have escaped.
Our correspondent learnt that the incident happened between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm on Sunday along Ajaokuta/Okene Road.
An official of Benue Links Transport Company in Makurdi who did not want to be mentioned said on Monday, “It is true the incident happened along Ajaokuta/Okene Road yesterday between 2:00 and 3:00 pm.
“Two vehicles were involved and ten passengers were abducted, the incident was reported at Adogo Police station near Okene”, he explained.
He appealed to the government to beef up security along the road for adequate surveillance.
