His Royal Majesty, the Atta Igala, Matthew Opaluwa Oguche-Akpa has inaugurated a seven-member caretaker committee to oversee the affairs of Igala socio-cultural group, the Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA)
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in his palace at Idah, the reverred monarch charged the committee to hit the ground running and constitute a new executive for the socio cultural organization within the shortest time possible.
He declared that time had come for the voice of the Igala/Bassa people to be heard far and wide and be accorded deserved respect and privileges among the comity of foremost ethnic nationalities.
The traditional ruler who is also the President, Kogi State Traditional Council noted that for that objective to be achieved, a credible leadership which is apolitical, competent credible, capable and committed must emerge for the ICDA.
The Atta Igala reiterated his commitment towards ensuring that Igala-Bassa Nation regained its lost glory as one of the first ten ethnic nationalities in the country.
His Royal Majesty Matthew Opaluwa Oguche-Akpa assured the committee of his utmost support for the success of their assignment but urged them to guard against saboteurs that could come from within or outside.
Responding on behalf of the committee, the chairman, pastor Immanuel Ameadaji assured of the resolve of the committee to do a good job that will stand the test of time and equally produce a credible leadership for ICDA.
Other members of the committee are Mrs Comfort Musa secretary, Chief Dr Julius Elukpo, Barr Salihu Ahmed, Mr Bartholomew Ademu, Hon. Gowon Omale and Chief Ibrahim Atadoga.
