The All Progressives Congress (APC) Kogi State Campaign Council for the forthcoming Governorship Election has debunked allegations that Governor Yahaya Bello is planning to assassinate Social Democratic Party (SDP) leaders over trumped-up charges of terrorism.

Mr Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Spokesman/Director of Media and Publicity of the APC Campaign Council who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Lokoja described the allegations as spurious.

He said that it was another tempo of falsehood adding that allegation of terrorism was not something to toy with adding, “Terrorism is a very serious national issue that shouldn’t be ordinarily trivialised by any group, no matter how confused.”

The Campaign Council called on security agencies to invite the SDP candidate and his campaign council for questioning and tender empirical facts to support their claims.

“While we will urge security agencies to invite the fiction authors for questioning and to tender empirical facts to support their claims, we wish to dismiss the allegation as another attention-seeking, unimaginatively concocted lie aimed at creating panic and preemptively covering their satanic plans against the Kogi voters.

“We wish to remind the Kogi voters who have resolved to continue and consolidate on the achievements of the past seven years, that the SDP and their co-travellers to a no point will continue their lies, name-dropping and spurious propaganda.

“If there are plans to terrorise the Kogi people, security agencies will ensure it is scuttled and we are confident that November 11 will make history as the best election day in the history of our dear Confluence State.

“We call on security agencies to as a matter of necessity, urgency and professionalism, invite those behind the reckless and defenceless allegation to provide proofs.

“Issues like these are capable of spreading fear if not curtailed immediately. As a Campaign Council, we will continue to preach peace and togetherness as well as abide by the provisions of our laws”, the Director of Media revealed.

Earlier, the SDP Kogi Governorship Campaign Council alleged that Governor Yahaya Bello had procured thugs and Police operatives to invade Anyigba to assassinate Sheik Ibrahim Jibril and Alhaji Ahmed Attah, the Director-General and the Youth Leader of Muritala Yakubu Ajaka Gubernatorial Campaign Organization respectively.

“Information reaching us indicate that Mr Yahaya Bello may have also procured a dubious court order from a pliant judge in Lokoja to justify the action as legal backing to assassinate our campaign leadership in the guise they resisted arrest

In the statement signed by Faruk Adejoh-Audu, Spokesperson and Director Communications, Muri/Sam Gubernatorial Campaign Council said, “The rogue force has been directed by Mr. Bello to kill anyone who attempts to organise a resistance to their mission to cause maximum terror in Anyigba.

The Muritala Yakubu Ajaka Gubernatorial Campaign Organization will like to caution that the constant procurement of policemen to attack and kill our supporters is an invitation to anarchy.

“We are calling of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to rein in this outlaw of a governor before he fatally undermines our democracy through his desperate brigandage.

“Our country’s fledging democracy is too important to be sacrificed for a thoroughly discredited governor and husband of a woman wanted by EFCC for looting Kogi State treasury-who in his desperation to cover his criminal tracks is bent on killing as many citizens as possible to impose his cousin”, he said.
