Kidnapping: Nasarawa CP tightens security at FCT border, deploys additional police

The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered for immediate deployment of Police operatives/vigilantes to the boundary with the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relation Officer, PPRO, DSP Ramhan Nansel on Wednesday in Lafia the state capital.

The deployment according to the security operative becomes necessary in view of the recent security issues being experienced in Abuja and environs hence the need to be proactive and prevent the issues from escalating into Nasarawa state.

The Commissioner further tasked Area Commanders, New Karu, Keffi, and Nasarawa and all Divisional Police officers under them to mobilise their personnel and Vigilante, partner with the traditional rulers, community leaders and sister security agencies in order to dominate the areas.

He therefore charged them to be civil to members of the public as no laxity and unprofessional conduct shall be tolerated.

The Police boss assured residents that the Command is working tirelessly to provide an impregnable security architecture in the state, as their safety is being looked after and urged residents to be vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police.
