NURTW commends labour Minister’s efforts in resolving Union’s crisis

National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has commended the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha for her efforts in ensuring justice, fairness and impartiality in handling the Union’s crisis.

The Union leadership led by its Acting President Issa Ore gave the commendation when they paid a visit on the minister at her office in Abuja on Tuesday.

Ore pledged the Union’s continuous synergy and collaboration to the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Reacting, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha assured that the ministry will do everything possible to return peace to the conflict-ridden NURTW.

She also said that the Federal government is determined to ensure overall peace and progress in the country.

Onyejeocha told the transport workers that the present administration is desirous of maintaining peace and harmony in every sector in the country

The Minister expressed the determination of the government to resolve the conflict within the ranks of the NURTW.

“I assure you that if there is anything that is left undone as we speak that with your kind cooperation that it will be done there are nothing that cannot be resolved. The truth of the matter is that we are all one in this country, the Christian, Muslim all worship one God

“Last year it was all gloomy faces but today I can see cheerful faces and everybody seems to be happy. That’s a good thing to happen in the new year and I wish all a happy and prosperous 2024 and that there will be no crisis in NURTW anymore”, she said.

She expressed the hope that the acting positions in the union will be filled and that everybody will work in harmony.

The Minister said that President Tinubu Ahmed Tinubu is committed to ensuring peace in the country.

“The President has said that he wants peace for the country. He also said that he is the driver while we the ministers and appointees of this government are the conductors for the whole Nigeria irrespective of ethnicity, religion or any belief. So I am the conductor and my duty is to make sure that everybody is in the right place”, she added.
