A fatal road accident involving commercial and private vehicles along Kastina-Ala-Zaki-Biam Road at Ngido village has claimed the lives of eight persons.

According to an eye witness, one of the drivers was trying to avoid a pothole before it rammed into an oncoming vehicle from the opposite direction.

Confirming the incident, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC in the state, Mike Ayodele, said ten persons were involved in the accident.

“Out of the ten, eight people died; four female adults and three male adults and one female child.

“Two persons were injured and were taken to Kastina-Ala General hospital for medical attention.

“It was a head-on collision. One of the vehicles was trying to avoid a pothole and rammed into an oncoming vehicle.

“I guess it was as a result of over speeding, otherwise they would have been able to maneuver their way,” Ayodele said.
