Dr Byuan says 5,000 affordable housing units on the way for low income earners across Nigeria

THE Executive Director, Housing Finance and Accounts, Federal Housing Authority, Dr Matthias Terwase Byuan, has disclose that the Federal Housing Authority, FHA, has been given the mandate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to build 5,000 Housing Unit in every state of the federation for low income earners.

Dr. Byuan, according to a statement signed by the Benue State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Daniel Ihomun on Saturday, made the disclosure at a reception held in his honour at the Maitama residence of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Sen George Akume who is also the leader of APC in the state on Thursdays, February 22, 2024.

He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment and praised Sen George Akume’s leadership skills and support, which he acknowledged, helped in facilitating his appointment.

According to Byuan, “Akume is a politician, a father, and a selfless leader who is approachable by people of various backgrounds. He is also modest, kind, and humanitarian.”

He urged the people to keep praying and standing by the leader in his quest to bring more Benue sons and daughters into the national spotlight.

Earlier, Elder Simon Shango, Chairman of the occasion and Chairman of the APC Elders Council in Benue State, thanked Sen Akume, for facilitating another appointment for a Benue son, and called prayers and support for him.

Elder Shango praised Dr Byuan for being a true son, a round peg in a round hole, and for being a real party man.

Chairlady of the occasion, Lady Helen Atom, a former senatorial candidate from zone A, praised Sen Akume for his devotion to Benue State, his constant efforts to empower people, and his determination that Dr Byuan was deserving of the appointment.

She also called for prayers for the leader and expressed gratitude to God for his unwavering protection.

In his goodwill message, Hon Terseer Ugbor, member representating Kwande/Ushongo federal constituency, who spoke on behalf of the National Assembly members, also thanked Sen Akume for once again demonstrating leadership by facilitating the appointment of Dr Byuan whom he believed will impact positively on the housing sector in Nigeria and make Benue proud.

In his vote of thanks, Comrade Austin Agada, the State Chairman of APC, urged politicians to follow the footsteps of Dr Byuan, who ran for the seat of governor of the state but was denied the party’s ticket.

He complimented Dr Byuan on being a unique politician who, in spite of his undeniable popularity and being the front-runner with the highest expenditures in the party’s last governorship primaries, declined to file a legal challenge on the outcome when he was denied the ticket.

Agada expressed gratitude to the leader of the party in the state for identifying a committed member who is capable of enhancing positively the lives of Benue people and fulfilling the mandate given him by the President.

He charged members of the party to remain steadfast in their prayers and support for Sen Akume and Dr Byuan.

The event was attended by Members of the APC State Working Committee, members of the National Assembly, captains of industries, party supporters, friends and many others.
