Insecurity: Gov Radda pleads for more security reinforcement

As marauding terrorists continue their mayhem on communities across Katsina State, Governor Dikko Umar Radda has pleaded with the President Bola Tinubu led Government for more reinforcement of security forces to the State.

He made the plea during an on the spot assessment visit to Wurma community of Birchi in Kurfi Local Government Area of the State where terrorists killed several residents and abducted a number of others in their recent mayhem.

Wurma community about 30 kilometres from the capital city, Katsina as residents took to streets to protest the persistent attacks on them by the marauding terrorists.

According to the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed in a statement on Friday, “Governor Radda visited the grieving residents, expressing his deepest sympathy for the victims of the attack.”

“While sympathizing with the people, he called on Wurma community to nominate 10 people to meet him in Katsina so that he will know how to cushion their challenges particularly as Ramadan approaches.

“Your protest is genuine and I feel for you but please remain calm as Government is doing all it can to stop these attacks.

“Words cannot express the profound grief I feel for the families who have lost loved ones in this senseless act of violence.

“My heart aches for the children who have lost their parents and the community that has been so deeply affected.

“I stand with you in this time of unimaginable pain and hardship”, he said.

The Governor urged the community to support the security forces including the state’s Community Watch Corps in tackling the menace of banditry.

“Governor Radda further said that government would mobilize 100 security personnel to Wurma and will feed them on a daily basis.

”The Governor reiterated his unwavering commitment to fighting banditry and restoring peace in the State.

“He emphasized that leadership is about serving the people and that their well-being remains his top priority.

“We must stand together against these barbaric acts and work collaboratively to overcome this challenge.

“I want to assure you that my administration is working tirelessly with security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“We will not rest until peace and security are restored to Katsina state”, he said.
