The wife of Nigeria’s Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima has appealed to women in Borno State to support President Bola Tinubu as he continues to work for the progress of the nation.

Mrs Nana Shettima made the call in Maiduguri when she hosted a lunch in honour of Borno State women, at her residence in the State capital Maiduguri, to celebrate this year’s Eid-el Fitr.

Addressing the gathering, which included the wife of Borno State Governor, Falmata Zulum, female political leaders and other stakeholders, Mrs Shettima urged them to support the governing party; All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels.

She said, “I thank you so much for coming, for your support and for always being there for me. I want to urge all my dear elders and sisters here present to extend your kindness, support and love to the APC administration at the levels of the local, state and federal governments.”

The wife of the Vice President enjoined Nigerians, especially women, to be hopeful because the government is working hard to improve their lives.

“I want to assure you on behalf of our dear mother the First Lady of Nigeria, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, that more support will be coming your way in the next couple of days; precisely, on the 16th of this month, we are coming with a huge package of empowerment. I want to urge you to still keep your hope alive. As long as there is life, there is hope,” she said.

In her remark, the wife of Borno State Governor, Dr Falmata Zulum, thanked the wife of the Vice President for hosting them as she pledged more support for the government of President Bola Tinubu.

Mrs Zulum also praised the wife of the Vice President for always coming to the aid of the needy.

“We really appreciate you, we love you and our prayers are always with you. You can count our support, we the women of Borno State. We are always praying for the President as well as your husband,” she said.
