Defence Chief seeks urgent attention to roads to ease military operations

Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff. General Christopher Musa has called for urgent attention to roads in areas of military operations, which according to him, are pivotal to military operations.

General Musa made this call when he paid courtesy visits to the ministers of Works and Housing and Agriculture and food Security respectively.

A statement issued by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director of Defence Information noted that during the CDS’s visit to the Works Ministry; he commended the Minister, Dave Umahi for his efforts towards rehabilitating Nigeria deplorable high ways.

In his response, Umahi condoled with the CDS on the recent unfortunate killing of military personnel in Delta State, and thanked the Armed Forces of Nigeria for its approach in handling the situation.

Sen. Umahi also commended the military for the renewed vigour in the fight against insecurity in Nigeria, and assured of his ministry’s readiness to partner the military to rehabilitate roads that are critical to military operations.

Similarly, General Musa, while speaking at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, showed appreciation to the minister for the ministry’s giant efforts in addressing food security in the country.

He emphasised the military’s desire to work with the ministry to bring to an end the contentious farmer/herders conflicts.

The Defence Chief also informed the minister of the readiness of the Defence Headquarters to establish Defence Farms to encourage members of the Armed Forces to embrace farming culture.
