Ex-loyalist of President Muhammadu Buhari and a former founding member of All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Buba Galadima, has described the four billion dollars fresh loan request by the president as another avenue to share money with his cronies.

The erstwhile chieftain of APC stated in an exclusive interview with Nigerian Pilot that the Buhari-led federal government has nothing to show for the loan it so far obtained, stressing that the $4 billion being requested will go the way others have gone in the past.

In his words, Galadima said, “It’s not a loan request, they are looking for money to share, they have always share the money and they will share this one also because the ones they’ve taken before, can you show me what they’ve done with it in your village? So I don’t believe in it.

” Nigerian doesn’t need to take one kobo loan. We have enough to manage our own affairs.”

The former National Secretary of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, accused the national assembly of being responsible for the looting and embezzlement of contracts funds which has kept the nation’s economy in limbo over the years.

“The government ceeded their sovereignty to the legislators. Ninety-nine percent of contracts being done in this country are given to the legislators. Why should we allow that?

” They have killed the middle class completely. Unless we have somebody that is bold enough to apply break on the extreme influence of the legislators on our economy, Nigeria can never move forward,” he said.

The president had last week written to the national assembly for approval to borrow $4 billion and €710 million loans to fund the 2021 budget.

He also sought the approval of grant components of $125 million.

The President said the loan request is an addendum to the 2018-2021 Federal Government External Borrowing Rolling Plan.
