Senate minority leader Enyinnaya Abaribe has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to freely proclaim that he doesn’t support killer herders.

 

 

Abaribe talking on Channels Tv on Monday morning, said the disappointment of the public authority to rebuff criminal herders had engaged them.

 

 

Abaribe said Buhari ought to be worried that a specific tribe were being ascribed to kidnapping and killings everywhere in the country.

 

 

Abaribe said: “The President needs to come out and say completely that he doesn’t uphold the exercises of killer herders.

 

 

“He needs to say I don’t uphold their activities, Buhari needs to come out for each Nigerian to see his goal to claim this issue.

 

 

“Is there any valid reason why you wouldn’t as CEO of a nation come out and say I’m ordering e-security organizations that these can’t keep on occurring?

 

 

“Where has the President at any point said openly that these criminal herders won’t ever be endured.

 

 

“I’ve just heard his Spokesman, Adesina says it and not from him.

 

 

“What we’ve heard since 2016 is living in harmony with your neighbour, attempt to oblige your nation men and stuff of that nature.

 

 

“This empowers those that are carrying out these violations that there is no discipline.

Lately, herders in various places within Nigeria have been blamed for killings and kidnappings.

 

On Friday, suspected herders assaulted Ebute Igbooro, killing four and setting properties ablaze.

 

 

This was after around six people had been hacked to death and some tossed into a stream in Owode Ketu on Thursday.
