Federal Capital Territory FCT,  police command Abuja, has arrested nine suspected armed robbery for terrorizing resident and a cash sum of one hundred and thirty thousand naira.

Mariam Yusuf ASP, the Command Public Relations Officer, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, said the suspects were arrested during a different coordinated intelligence operation between February 10 and 18.

A statement on Sunday by the FCT According to Mariam,  “The suspects are Adah Johnson 20years, Ebere Ekueme 19years, Freedom Emmanuel 20years, Gambo Alanana 19years, Gideon Adaga 35years, Friday Adanu 20years, Danjuma Gambo 19years, Abubakar Aliyu 20years and Jude Godwin 25years all male”.

They have arrested along Jabi-Utako, Wuse and Kwali axis during different coordinated intelligence operation between  February,  10th-18th.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects are three locally fabricated pistols, one unexpended cartridge, four cutlasses, one cutter, three television sets,  mobile phones and a cash sum of one hundred and thirty thousand naira.

All the suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation. “We enjoin residents to remain calm, law-abiding and reiterate our unflinching commitment to the protection of lives and property within the FCT”.

Furthermore, she said that the Command enjoins residents to report all suspicious movements.

Recalled that the Commissioner of Police,  FCT, Bala Ciroma, last week said that one-hundred and fifty personnel, human and operational assets have been deployed to the Nations Capital to address the emerging security challenges and rid It of criminal elements

This follows the launch of Operation Puff Adder II, by the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu recently.

Also, recently the Abuja Command,  said  it  killed two-armed robbery suspects in Gwarinpa, Abuja  in its effort to rid the Nation Capital of criminal elements

Marian,  in a statement, said the Command repelled a four-man armed robbery gang at 7th Avenue of Gwarinpa after attacking and dispossessing their victims of their possessions.

Specifically, Yusuf, said two members of the gang met their death after attempting to escape with the stolen items while the others fled.

Adding that fortunately, all the stolen items including computer gadgets, mobile phones and a huge sum of money were recovered by Police Operatives from Gwarinpa.
