UEFA licensed coach who has applied to handle Nigeria’s U20 male national team, the Flying Eagles has raised concern over the Super Eagles at winning the 2021 African Cup of Nations, AFCON slated for Cameroon.

The Head Coach of American Second Division side, FC Tulsa, Michael Nsien observed that the Super Eagles have the quality of players and potential to win the next African Nations Cup for a record fourth time, but noted that the senior team has no defence.

He said that Super Eagles strength is the attack while advising Eagles coach to work on the defence to keep the hope of winning the title alive.

“Looking at the potential of the current Super Eagles players, I will say that hundred percent, Nigeria has the potential to win the African Nations Cup in Cameroon. From the midfield to the forward, there is absolutely high quality players and talents. Coach Gernot Rohr only need to identify a croup of players at the back four to make sure that the game is tight for the opponents. He just needs to keep the quality at the back and stay connected as a group. When players have played in another country for a very long time, it can be difficult to adapt and to win a competition, you will not want to concede goals.

According to Nsien, “I believe in the set of players that form the attack of the current Super Eagles. We have the right group of players in the Eagles.”

Nsien is the chief coach of FC TULSA in America where the duo of Nigerian internationals, Mfom Udoh and Solomon Kwambe ply their trade.
