All Progressives Congress, APC, has announced Senator Andy Uba as the winner of the party’s governorship primary election for Anambra conducted on Saturday June 26, 2021.
Announcing the result, chairman of APC Anambra primary election committee and Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun declared that Senator Uba scored a total of 230,201 votes to emerge winner and candidate of APC in the November 6 governorship election in Anambra.
The final result later announced by the party secretariat showed that Johnbosco Onunkwo polled a total of 28,746 votes while Chido Nwankwo ganerred  21,281 votes to emerge second and third respectively.
Meanwhile, Nigerian Pilot gathered that there was another parallel primary election in the State in which another candidate emerged.
Unconfirmed report indicated that Andy Ubah allegedly hijacked all Electoral materials in two senatorial districts, leaving voters stranded.
Another report has it that one of the aspirants, George Moghalu, has called for the cancellation of the APC primary election that produced Sen. Andy Uba as candidate.
Similar scenario is reported to be playing out in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in which two candidates are laying claim to the ticket of the party in the November 6 governorship election in Anambra.
Political analysts believe that with these post-primary crises in the APC and PDP, the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, and his candidate, Charles Soludo, might have an easy coast home in the election while others believe the candidate of Young Progressive Party, YPP, Senator Ifeanyin Uba might carry the day.
