A total of 446 Primary Health Centers have so far been uploaded in the 21 local government areas of Anambra state.
The state has also taken delivery of 58,000 doses of phase two of Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines, while 62 persons have taken their vaccination for the first phase.
The state governor, Chief Willie Obiano equally announced fresh cases of COVID-19 pandemic numbering 101 in the last two weeks.
According to the Chairman, Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Prof. Okechukwu Ogbuagu who spoke to reporters during the commissioning of Mother and Child  Referral Center Amaku, more of such health centers are still being renovated and upgraded to meet the health needs of the people in the rural areas.
Also speaking, the Anambra state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala noted that the Referral Center sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Ltd is part of the #13. 1 billion cooperate social responsibility of the oil firm which the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital benefited.
The Commissioner noted that the health facility would go a long way in saving the Anambra people and neighboring states in the South East the trouble of traveling far to seek medical attention.
Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Amaku,  Dr. Josephat Akabuike announced that the Teaching Hospital has graduated five sets of Medical Doctors and the ministry has built and completed 150 bedded hostel and that the obstetrics-gynecology, pediatrics, surgery Community medicine department has been accredited.
Speaking shortly after commissioning the project, Gov Willie Obiano warned that as the election campaigns and new yam festivals commenced, people should observe the COVID-19 protocols.
The Governor stated that in the last two weeks, a total of 101 fresh cases have been recorded, noting that COVID-19 pandemic has not gone.
