A polyvalent professional with a rich multi-sectoral background, Ubani has over 30 years of successful leadership experience in building strong capacity development and mentoring platforms; driving qualitative governance and leadership programs; forging productive partnerships for effective in-country capacity building programming; working to support innovative youth & women capacity enhancement initiatives and; developing effective partnerships for strengthening leadership capacity in Nigeria’s private, public & civic sectors. Ubani is recognized as one of Africa’s most compelling trainer/facilitator on values based leadership programming.

A published author, editor, columnist, poet and keynote speaker, Ubani has served at various times as Ag. Country, Director Mississippi consortium for International Development (MCID); Director General, Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI); President/CEO, Women Leadership Institute (WLI); Chief Executive Officer, Hopefield Empowerment & Learning Program (HELP); Principal Partner, Africa Leadership Advantage (AFRILEAD); Managing Director, Global Office Limited; Program Director, Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI).

In addition to an illustrious professional career in the development sector, Ubani has also made useful contributions in the political sector. He contested and won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State House of Assembly Primaries in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area in Lagos state in 1998 and represented the Party in the general elections for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, 1999. After relocating to Abuja, Ubani was variously appointed: Head of the PDP Secretariat setup to provide Intellectual/Research support services to the PDP delegation to the National Political Reform Conference (NPRC), 2005; Secretary of the Presidential Committee on the Reform of PDP, 2006; Media and Publicity Consultant to the Goodluck-Sambo Presidential Campaign Council, Legacy House, Abuja, 2011.

Within the development community, Ubani variously served as: Chairman, Board of Fellows, African Business School (ABS), 2006 and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Nigerian Legislative Awards 2008; subsequently, in 2010, Ubani became Founder/Chairman, Campaign for A New Nigeria.

Ubani is an alumnus of Lagos State University; University of Lagos; Manchester Business School, Manchester University, Uk; Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos; and Mediation Training institute, Uk. Ubani is a Member ofthe International Leadership Association; Association for Talent Development, USA; Institute of Directors, London; Nigerian Institute of Management; and Association of Corporate Governance Professionals of Nigeria, Abuja Chapter. Ubani is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration, Nigeria; African Business School, Nigeria; Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria; and the Institute of Corporate Administration, Nigeria.

An avid chess player, Ubani regularly contributes his time,talent and treasure as a volunteer in support of local and international developmental programs in Nigeria. Ubani currently serves as the Executive Director, #FixPolitics Initiative.
