Ahead of June 23, 2021, All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), primary election in Anambra State, an industrialist and APGA Chieftain, Chief Remigius Nnamezie Ibe has cautioned the party to desist from any act of irregularities that could mar the forthcoming primary election.
Chief Ibe made this call in a telephone chat with our correspondent.
He said that the party’s primary election would determine their victory in the November 6, 2021 governorship election.
The APGA Chieftain however, expressed optimism that Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji would emerge as the flag bearer of the party.
He said, “Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji remains the only credible aspirant among other aspirants who are jostling for the ticket of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). What we are saying is that, let the party in the state conduct transparent, free and fair primary elections. I am glad that the National Working Committees have mapped out modernities for the primary election and I want to use this medium to advise the state party electoral committees to adhere strictly on the modalities.
“I am confident that Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji would emerge victorious but if he is eventually defeated by another aspirant, all of us would support the winner after all APGA party is one family”.
He added that Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji is the choice of Ndi Anambra.
He contended that the present and past record of Hon. Umeoji testifies his capability to make Anambra great if he is elected to Man Agu Awka Government house.
“Charity they say begins at home. Hon. Umeoji was the former Chairman of Aguata local government council as well the Chairman of all the local government council Chairmen in Anambra State. So, he is not a novice in terms of leadership and with his experiences he knows the local terrain and what people want,” Chief Ibe added.
The APGA chieftain further noted that Hon. Umeoji through his effective representation attracted a lot of road construction, provision of bore holes and building of Markets for Communities as some of his monumental developments in Aguata constituency.
He reiterated that leadership is based on experience, wisdom and public choice, positing that Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji has an edge over other aspirants if the primary election is conducted in a transparent manner.
